A portrait, to me, is not about how someone looks, but how they Hope To be seen.

I’ve spent over 20 years photographing across documentary, conceptual and portrait work, but I’ve always returned to people. What interests me most is not the performed self, but what appears after that falls away.

My sessions begin before the camera comes out. Conversation is part of the work. I spend time understanding the person first, allowing trust and rhythm to develop.

There is often a warm-up period, and then a moment where something shifts — where self-consciousness dissolves and the more honest photographs begin.

That is where I work.

I photograph mostly with natural light, sometimes lightly assisted, and prefer real environments over constructed studio settings. My approach is simple, attentive and minimally directed.

These sessions are for individuals who want something more than a conventional portrait — people drawn to being seen thoughtfully.

The goal isn’t perfection. It really is having the first real photo of yourself in your life.
